LPC-Associate & Practicum Opportunities

Practicum Internship

Sunny Glen Counseling Services offers practicum internships to masters level students in clinical counseling or social work, who are interested in working with a diverse population in an out-patient community mental health setting. 

Practicum: Areas of Focus

Outpatient Therapy: therapy internship with focus on working with single, couples, or married adults challenged with depression, anxiety, trauma, or substance use problems. 

Outpatient Therapy with Youth: therapy internship with focus on working with children in foster care and youth residing at independent supervised living center on coping with depression, anxiety, and trauma.

 

Practicum: Expectations

In general, internship students have the following requirements per semester:

120 direct hours of individual, couples, family, or group counseling (students may have more than one site if 120 hours is not possible at your facility)

One hour total per week of site supervision

Mid-term and Final evaluation by site supervisor of student’s competency in counseling
