We offer individual (children and adults), family, couples, and group counseling. Check back with us frequently, as we have plans to accept more insurances and private pay.

Individual Therapy: Individual therapy refers to one-on-one mental health treatment that is personalized to suit an individual’s unique needs. It involves setting therapeutic goals, processes one’s past, and learning how to manage one’s symptoms or triggers in order to live a healthier life.

Marriage Counseling & Couples Therapy: Marriage counseling, also known as couples counseling or couples therapy, is a type of psychotherapy that helps couples to improve their relationship. It involves the exploration of any conflicts and misunderstandings between the partners, and the use of communication and problem-solving skills to resolve them. Marriage counseling is usually conducted by licensed therapists and can be short-term or long-term depending on the needs of the couple.

Family Therapy: Family therapy is a form of psychotherapy that involves all the members of a nuclear or extended family. It is a type of psychological counseling that can help family members improve communication and resolve conflicts.

Group Therapy: Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy that involves one or more therapists working with several people at the same time. Groups can be any size but often include five to 10 people.
OUR TEAM
Juan Hernandez is the Treatment Director of Sunny Glen Children’s Counseling Services. He graduated with a Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling from The University of Texas-Pan American in 1989 followed by LPC licensure in 1993, then Texas Board certified LPC Supervisor in 2020. Juan has over 30 years providing counseling to children, adolescents, couples, adults, family, and older adults in the areas of mental health, trauma, substance abuse, and end of life issues. Juan practices Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma care and recovery. Juan is passionate about teaching and supervising graduate students and LPC-Associates in becoming ethical, compassionate, and successful Licensed Professional Counselors. His favorite self-care activities include sailing, birding, and cycling with his wonderful wife, Cecilia.
